In the past couple of years there were talks that the original Bacardi genre has died because of Amapiano that is one of the most trending genres in South Africa. But that is far from the truth as artists such as Ma R5 and Phindi keep the genre flowing following their recently released debut album Baccardi Riderz.

Vusi and Phindi are a duo based in Mabopane and Soshanguve and known as major Bacardi players. They formed their partnership around 2017 and their hit song Tabela is one of the most popular Bacardi songs around the city of Tshwane.
The duo are also known for their stella stage performance and are causing havoc in the streets of Pretoria where Bacardi music is popular.
They have recently released their debut album titled Barccadi Riderz, a project that has the potential to send out a message in the streets that the Bacardi genre is still alive and well, as we have witnessed with their hit single Tabela that mesmerizes every crowd when played.
Barccadi Riderz is an album that has potential commercially since the release of DJ Mujava’s Township Funk Remixes a decade ago.
The duo has also shared stages with top artists like Kwesta, Oskido, Heavy K, Nokwazi, Pencil, Zing Master, Kabza De Small and many more.
“This album is one of the commercial projects to be released since those days of Mujava’s Township Funk,” Sghubu sa Pitori manager Mothusi told Mams Music Gallery.
“The album is available to purchase online.”
