SlamTwice, real name Lucky Masilela, was born in Limpopo at Monsterlus near Nebo and has moved to Pretoria because “the music calling was too loud” for him.

The rapper won now defunct SABC music show Jam Alley’s competition in 2009 and also featured in the 32nd edition of popular Hip Hop magazine Hype Mag in 2010.

“I was motivated by a lot of people (to start music),” he told Mams Music Gallery.

“The likes of Space Munna, Skwattakamp, Amunission and all the local mainstream artists from back in the days.

“My style (of rapping) is different because I don’t write about what I don’t have.”

The industry is not new to the rapper and after releasing few songs he has now dropped yet another rap song called Nongoloza.

He says the song is about waking up and going to hustle: “Don’t wait for your dream. Go and get your dream,” he added.

The rapper is now working on a EP that is produced by Sbuda Lation. The project will consist of 10 songs and will be released soon.
