Gang Green Gang is a group that almost took the Pretoria hip hop music industry by storm when they were formed few years back.

The group released a memorable number of songs including Some Sokolo, Stele Mamelodi, Jabu Madolo to count a few.

But one of their four members, then known as C-ya, left the group at the start of 2019 to pursue his solo career.

“I left GGG because I felt like we were no longer seeing things eye to eye,’ he told Mams Music Gallery. “My journey (since leaving GGG) has been encouraging. Being on the steering wheel taught me to be in control.”

He has since released his debut solo EP he titled Salty Tear, a five track project that has songs like Let It Shine, Family and Character.

He adds: “I called the EP Salty Tear because I made these songs on a very hard route. I remember they were times were I had to beg for beats & convince people to listen at what I can do alone.”

After this project, Cya says he will continue to release singles featuring Dr Phil or Bombflex Gang.

“We are also going to shoot a music video of a song in the Salty Tear EP by the name of Family,” he concluded.
